206: The Ladies of GC Argue!

The Chancellor House, Living Room

Mackenzie is standing at the podium reading the first contents of  Kay’s will.

Mac: Interesting, very interesting.

Karynn cracks open her beer and takes a sip as she takes her seat.

Karynn: What is it Mac,.. who got what? Did I get anything? Please darling don’t keep us in suspense.

Phillip walks down the stairs and Nina greets him by giving him a hug.

Nina: How are you feeling?
Phillip: I don’t know I’m just here I guess.
Nina: Do you remember anything about last night? Anything with Scotty?
Phillip: No and I don’t want to deal with it Nina.
Nina: ok I’m sorry, I’ll get Esther to get you some breakfast. Things are about to get under way.
Phillip: No Nina it’s ok I can get my own breakfast.

He walks away from her.
She stares at him, remembering what her son told her last night. The only bar in Midtown was a gay bar. That’s where Phillip said he was. Nina wonders if Phillip is hiding his homosexuality again.

Then Chance with Victoria at his side begin to descend down the stairs. Chance looks at his mother and can tell she is upset. Nina look at her son with Victoria and smiles.
Nina gives her son and Victoria a hug.

Victoria: Nina it’s nice to see you.
Nina: Same to you. I’m so glad you’re being there for my son.

An awkward comes across them. Chance gets a bit agitated at the fact his mother is alluding to his PTSD.

Chance: Mom would you please? I can handle my own problems. Victoria and I are good friends. Don’t go reading anything into it.

Victoria looks at Chance as Nina make a face being stunned her son just checked her.

Nina: Well Esther is serving breakfast in the living room. Mac is getting things started.

Chance and Victoria exchange a look at the mentioning of Mac’s name.

Chance: Are you sure you want to stay? I’d understand if you don’t.
Nina: Excuse me I’m going to get the door.

Victoria: No, it’s ok. I want to have a talk with Mac anyway. Maybe I can talk some sense into her.
Chance: Are you sure that’s a good idea?
Victoria: I will do anything to gain custody of Reed. I want to raise him. Not Mac and JT. I’m his mother not Mac.
Chance: I understand. Well friend I’ll stand right beside you.
Victoria: Thank you.

She gives him a polite hug. They enter the room and Mackenzie looks up from the podium and locks eyes with Victoria. They have a stare down until Chance ushers Victoria to a seat. She then looks at him, smiles and takes a seat.

Nina opens the door and on the other side is Jill Abbott.
Nina: Jill I’m so glad you’re here. We need to talk about Phillip.
Jill: What about my son Nina?
“Yea what about me Nina?” They both hear. Nina turns around and sees Phillip standing behind her.

The doorway of the Chancellor Mansion

Phillip: What were you going to tell my mother about me Nina?
Nina: I think your mom should know what happened last night.
Jill: What happened?

Jill brushes Nina aside to give her son a hug.
Phillip smiles.

Phillip: It’s good to see you mom.
Jill: Well your looking good. Now tell me what happened last night?

She says entering the house.

Phillip: Scotty was attacked last night. I was the one who found him.
Jill: You found Scotty, where did all this take place?
Phillip: I really don’t want to talk about it. I have to many people questioning me and I don’t like it.
Jill: Ok honey no pressure calm down. When you are ready we can talk. I’m here for you Phillip you know that. You can tell me anything.

She gives him another hug.

Nina looks on with a worried look on her face.
“Something is going on with Phillip. He’s shutting down, being very secretive.”

She thinks to herself as she looks on at Jill and Phillips closeness. Nina feels a bit empty and jealous wishing she still had that closeness with Phillip.

Back in the living room

Mac looks at her watch then she hears
“Mackenzie do you think we can talk?”

She turns around and sees Victoria.

Mackenzie: Vicki hi, look I’m really not trying to get into anything with you. I just lost my father and the reading of my grandma’s will… its hard on me. I would appreciate it if we can save this conversation for a later time.
Victoria: I’m sorry Mac I just can’t do that. This is about my son and his mother. Me Mac, I am desperate to gain custody of Reed back. I’ve turned my life around. Reed needs to be with me.
Mac: Look Vic, I’m really sorry you are going through this but I have nothing to do with JT fighting you on this. I do however support him. And I honestly don’t think this is a wise conversation to have under my circumstances.
Vicki: A son needs both his parents. I need my son. He’s my son too Mac. You don’t have any children of your own so you wouldn’t know how I’d feel right about now. I thought maybe I could talk some sense into you and talk JT out of us going back to court.

Mac is by now a bit irritated that Victoria has shown no respect of her loses and decides to not let Victoria railroad her. She now begins to get defensive.

Mac: And what just hand over Reed to you like that?
Victoria: He is my son I don’t see anything wrong with it.
Mac: JT is a good father and just because you decide to put your son first doesn’t give you the right to snatch away from the family he already has. Reed is doing wonderful and has adapted well.
Victoria: You mean as his new mother.
Mac: If that’s what you want to call it. I didn’t put a label on it.
Victoria: I have never known you to be so cold Mac what has happened to you?
Mac: Life Victoria. Please understand I lost my father and my grandmother in a very short amount time. Not to mention Tucker who would have been my uncle. These things hurt and they took a toll so forgive me If I’m not, hmm I don’t know inclusive of your argument right now. I stand by JT and his decision.
Victoria: You will never be a mother to my son and you will never replace me.
Mac: Was never trying to. Just trying to make a good life for my family. Now if you will excuse me I need to speak to my family.

Mac walks off. Victoria is left stuck there not expecting this kind of response from Mac. A tear forms in her eye as she feels hopeless in her battle to gain custody of her son.
Chance walks up behind her and holds her.

Victoria: I don’t know what I’m going to do Chance.

She says wiping that tear that got heavy enough to fall down her cheek.

Next to arrive is an old school white Rolls Royce with gold trimming and tires straight from the 1940's. to match. The vintage car has a fancy horn and it catches everyone’s attention as the driver blows it.

A driver steps out and walks over to the lady of the car.
Wearing a white dress with white heels and a white silver laced boa is Nikki Newman. Nikki has silver laces going through out her hair.
Jill walks out onto the patio and looks on in complete disgust.

Driver: You look wonderful madam.
Nikki: Thank you Chase. You make me feel wonderful. Without you I wouldn’t be able to face all these people today and face what’s in Katherine’s will for me. I can’t imagine she left me anything after we fell out right before she died. I will never forgive me myself for not making amends with my dear friend.
Chase: Think positive Mrs. Newman. She’s hears you. She knows how sorry you feel. Now you have your flask in case you know, you need a little bathroom break.

Nikki smiles at him.

Nikki: I do.

Chase escorts Nikki to the front door where a pissed off Jill awaits.

Jill: How dare you honor Katherine showing up her flaunting all this…this… oh what in the hell are you doing Nikki? This isn’t a Newman ball how dare you come here dressed like that and in that car?
Nikki: Oh, Jill here we go again. I was summoned here by Katherine’s will this was not my choice.
My driver here, Chase is his name by the way found this beauty in Nevada. Isn’t she lovely. He named her Goldie.

Nikki says with a smile as she waves her hand by the golden vintage rare beauty.

Jill: It’s just tacky Nikki Newman. I expected a lot more class coming from you.
Nikki: I’m surprised your even here Jill. Waiting for that handout as well.
Jill: Just like you dear.
Nikki: Excuse me If I chose to do it in style in honor of my good friend Katherine. That’s the kind of bond we share Jill even though you were her daughter.
Jill: You bitch I out to slap that stupid silver crap out of your hair.

Karynn then enters the scene.

Karynn: I hear a man’s voice who’s arguing out here. Maybe this angry man needs a beer. So I brought one with me just in case.

Nikki chuckles and Jill rolls her eyes.
Karynn then sees Jill and then she looks at Chase.
Karynn hands Chase the beer but Chase rejects it.

Chase: I’m not angry ma’am.

Karynn then looks at Jill.

Karynn: Oh that was you. Wow Jill those cigarettes don’t like you very much.
Jill: You low class goat herder don’t you dare start with me. Cigarettes aren’t kind to you as well. Look at your hair and your wrinkles.
Karynn: Well I’m 77 years old what in the hell did you expect?

Chase escorts Nikki passed Jill and Karynn and inside the house.
Karynn lights up a Virginia Slim and then offers Jill one.

Jill: Oh alright!

Jill snatches one out the box.

Karynn: You are one angry person. You want this beer here? It’ll put some hair on your chest, would match that deep voice of yours.
Jill: Just when I thought we had a break through.
Karynn: That’s ok I can tug it.

Karynn cracks it open and chugs on it.

Jill: You’re so annoying, just like you’re your sister Katherine. I couldn’t stand that old bat.
Karynn: You don’t say. And she didn’t like you either… I read up on your rivalry with her. And let me tell you something Jill, I can see why she didn’t like you.

Karynn says blowing smoke in Jill’s face.
Jill coughs.

Jill: Well Karynn what are you saying then? You want to continue this battle or what?
Karynn: You never know Jill. I just don’t like what you did to my sister, stealing her husband. You sound like my slutty daughter. I know how it feels to have the one you love stolen from you. A lot is at stake here and we have to get through this will reading. We’ll see how the dust settles.
Jill: You would know all about dust wouldn’t you trash?
Karynn: I really don’t like you Jill many last names. I’m putting you on notice now, I will defend my sisters name and I will most certainly defend myself.
Jill: Your only here for the payout.
Karynn: I’ve warned you Jill. Now be gone.

Jill gives Karynn an angry look and storms off.

Karynn chugs the rest of her beer as she thinks...
“Everything could change for me after this will reading. May god be with me… Katherine please... Karl please, I pray I get a piece of the pie.”

Karynn blows smoke from her cigarette as she wonders and becomes anxious with the contents of Katherine’s will.
