188: Dru vs Leslie: Will they or won't They?!

GC Memorial Hospital, Neil’s room.
Dru continues to look at Leslie waiting for an answer.

Dru: Tell me Les, Dru is waiting. Tell Dru who you are and why your paws were all over my husband?

Leslie smiles at Dru and then looks down at Neil then back at Dru.
Dru walks over closer towards Leslie.

Leslie: I’m not going to do this with you. Especially not in front of Neil.
Dru: I will make decisions for my husband while he in that bed sleep.
Leslie: He’s in a coma and I care for Neil very much.
Dru: Oh you do?
Leslie: I do. I understand you are back from the dead. I understand you being back makes you Neil’s wife. You’re still married.
Dru: We are but yet your paws were all over my husband.
Leslie: It also seems like you are proud of your actions with Phyllis.
Dru: Damned right! I whooped her ass and I plan on doing it a few more times. She stole a part of my life.
Leslie: I’m a sophisticated, well-educated black woman. I don’t think black women should fight over men when we are already fighting for equality.
Dru: Oh, you an uppity type sista girl.
Leslie: No, I’m just not about to have a fight with you over Neil. That is not my style. Now what we can do is have a discussion about this situation like two adults so that we can come to a resolution. I know you are upset at seeing me with Neil.
Dru: Damned right. I fought to long and too hard to come back to my family and I’m just going to say it up front, no one is going to stop me or us. In the back of my mind I did wonder if Neil moved on. I knew some woman would find him attractive. He’s the complete package. Handsome, tall,… successful.
Leslie: That he is. I know all about it.
Dru: I bet… I came in here ready to give you a beat down. But your approach, I like. I can be classy to Les.
Leslie: I’d like to see that.
Dru: Now see girl, I don’t know if you are coming for me on the low.  But I’m going to let it go for the sake of my family.
Leslie: Let’s not waste time Dru. Let’s get this over with. I have no intentions of walking away from Neil unless he asks me to. And you seem to be dug into your position as his wife. You’ve been gone a very long time and I love Neil.
Dru: I don’t think this is going to work out. You are not going to tell me that you aren’t going to walk away from my husband. He has a family with me… Not you. You may have had him once but I got him all the time.

Dru holds her hands up to flash Leslie her wedding ring.

Leslie: Neil doesn’t even know you are alive. I think we need to give him time to digest all of what’s happened before we decide what to do from here. In fact do you even know what’s happened to him?
Dru: Girl you are working my last nerves. I am the wife and I will control what is going on and I will also make decisions for my husband. At this point you are nothing more than a confused home wrecker.
Leslie: I’m not going to be childish and engage in name calling Dru.
Dru: You appear to think you are so much better than me.
Leslie: Not at all, but like you Dru I come from the streets too. I just put all that to rest in order to be a successful woman. Surely you can understand.
Dru: Oh yes I can. I also understand that one of us is about to leave this room and trust me girl it won’t be me.
Leslie: It must be because I am not leaving here Dru.

Dru walks closer towards Leslie. They stare each other down.

Gina’s Italian Bistro, Keemo and Gloria’s table

Keemo: Gloria tell me, give me an answer please! I can’t keep holding on much longer. It really feels like I am the only one trying to make this relationship work.
Gloria: Keemo you are so pushy.
Keemo: Am I really? I gave you months to think about us. And yet I’m the pushy one. How much more time are you going to need?
Gloria: I don’t know Keemo. Yes I love you. I just don’t know if I can marry you.
Keemo: Because of my deceased grandfather? Someone I barely even know.
Gloria: I knew him very well. I loved him very much.

The waiter brings over their food and sits it down in front of them.
Keemo is very disappointed and has now lost his appetite.

Keemo: I can’t do this Glo. I refuse to be treated like this. I don’t  have an appetite any longer.
Gloria: I’m sorry Keemo.
Keemo: So am I.

Keemo pulls out a hundred dollar bill from his wallet and throws it on the table. Keemo then gets up and walks out the restaurant. Gloria is stunned Keemo just walked out on her.

Gloria: I have to fix this. I love Keemo but his grandfather is standing in the way.

Phyllis arrives at Nick and Lauren’s table

Phyllis: My my my what do we have here?
Nick: Phyllis please don’t make a scene here.

Daniel walks up behind Phyllis and concurs with Nick.

Daniel: Yea mom please not here. Let’s just enjoy this evening.
Lauren: Phyllis nothing is going on here, Nick and I are just having dinner and drinks. We are both going through a lot as you well know.
Phyllis: Oh yes I know I’m relaunching Restless Style with all the latest happenings in Genoa City of late. If this goes any further I may have to add this to the issue I’m working on.
Daniel: Mom please, Lauren said nothing is going on here let’s just go to our table.
Phyllis: Nick and I used to be married and we share a child. I have a right to know what he is up to. It seems to me he traded one red head in for another.
Nick: Phyllis you cheated on me with Ronan. Remember?
Phyllis: I do. But you also slept with Sharon.
Daniel: Mom please let’s not do this.
Phyllis: Oh I’m not doing anything.  Nick just seems to like only blondes and red heads. First it was princess Sharon then me then, then my sister Avery who is a blonde and now Lauren. He goes back and forth. Blonde one day, a red head the next.
Lauren: Phyllis how could you be so cruel? Sharon is dead.
Phyllis: Oh yes, about that. I am sorry to hear about Sharon. I’ll be sure to include a memorial for her in my relaunch.
Nick: Phyllis you are being bitter and embarrassing yourself and your son.
Phyllis: Just don’t forget about our daughter. Summer is her name.
Nick: Go take a seat Phyllis! You’re being very insulting.

Phyllis looks at Lauren.

Phyllis: Some friend you are. And to think I was going to tell you some very valuable information about Sheila Carter.
Nick: Sheila Carter?
Lauren: What do you know?
Phyllis: A lot.. but after seeing this I’ll keep the goods for myself.
Nick: She’s just buffing Laruen don’t worry about it.
Phyllis: Am I Nick? Just ask your husband Lauren… Your husband… You are still married aren’t you?
Lauren: Not for much longer. What does Michael know about Sheila Carter?
Phyllis: You sure do move fast Lauren. Bye friend.

Phyllis and Daniel walk away from their table and over to their own.

Lauren looks at Nick as Nick looks at her.

Lauren: Phyllis knows something about Sheila and Michael.
Nick: I wouldn’t think much of it. Phyllis is being bitter.
Lauren: I don’t  think so Nick. Something is off.

Lauren ponders what Phyllis just said.

Lauren: Michael and Sheila Carter. What could the connection be?

Nick takes a bite of his steak as he wonders if Phyllis was really bluffing about the info she has on Michael and Sheila Carter.

Abby and Devon’s table

Abby and Devon are finishing up their meals.

Abby: That was fabulous. No one makes Chicken Parm like Gina.
Devon: Yes that was rather tasty.

Devon sits back and looks at Abby. Abby notices and Devon smiles.

Abby: Why are you smiling?
Devon: Admiring your beauty. Abby I’ve been feeling really good around you lately. I thank you for being here for me with so much is going on with my family.
Abby: It’s not a big deal Devon. I’m happy I am able to do it.
Devon: Now about some dessert.
Abby: I cannot eat another bite. Besides my jeans are already feeling tight. Any more food and I’ll have to unbutton them.

Devon chuckles.

Abby: I have a sweet treat for you though.
Devon: Oh you do? Are you referring to this surprise you’ve been teasing me about all evening?
Abby: I am. I think it’s almost time.
Devon: Time for what?

Abby sees a tall, imposing figure out the corner of her eye. She looks over and sees her father Victor Newman.

Abby: Oh my it can’t be.
Devon: What is it Abby?

Devon looks in the direction of where Abby is looking.

Devon: Victor Newman?
Abby: He’s out of jail?
Devon: I hope this was not the sweet treat you had for me. If so I’ll definitely pass.
Abby: I’m going to go talk with him.

She gets up and leaves their table. Devon looks in his phone and looks at the call log which displays the number Roxanne called from. He thinks of her.

Back at the Hospital, Neil’s room

Les takes a step back from Dru when Dru steps just inside of Leslie’s personal space.

Leslie: I’m not feeling how close you are to me.
Dru: And I don’t feel how close you are to my husband.
Leslie: I almost feel threatened. I told you I am not going to get physical with you. It’s classless and tacky and I am not that kind of woman and you shouldn’t be either.  We can work this out.
Dru: You keep saying that but I can only think of one solution. Leave! This is my husband Les! Nothing is going to change that.
Leslie: I think Neil needs time to adjust to everything once he awakens. He can decide what he wants. Neil is his own man.
Dru: Les you are reaching the end of my rope. I am trying to be civilized with you but you keep pushing me girl.
Leslie: No, I’m  not just going to walk away just because you tell me too. Maybe Neil doesn’t even want to be with you anymore. It’s been quite a few years. He might want to be out with the old and in with the new.

Dru laughs stepping closer towards Leslie, once again in her personal space. Leslie takes her arm and pushes Dru back. Dru looks down on Leslie’s arm making contact with her body, pushing her away, shocked that Leslie just pushed her and then looks back up at Leslie. As Dru is about to have a negative reaction, they hear moaning. They both turn around and can see Neil’s eyes fluttering. He is beginning to moan louder.
Leslie turns to him and grabs his hand.

Les: That’s it Neil, that’s right come back to us.

Dru walks on the other side of Neil and grabs his left hand and holds it. She sits on the bed and then caresses his face.

Dru: Neil, my love, it’s me. I’ve come back to you.

Leslie gives Dru a look.

Leslie: That is too much for him to take in right now. You shouldn’t have said anything.
Dru: Why because you want my husband?

Neil continues to moan. Dru squeezes his hand.

Dru: That’s right Neil, come back to us.

Neil’s eyes begin to blink like normal.

Dru: The sound of my voice is calming him.

Neil opens his eyes. He looks to his right and sees Leslie. She smiles at him. He then looks to his left and sees a smiling Dru. Neil  seems to be confused at seeing his presumed dead wife. Neil’s heart rate increases and his breathing intensifies.

Leslie: Not a good reaction so far.

  1. Omg. I can't wait to see how Neil responds Dru is a trip. I wonder what Dru is going to do if Neil says he's over her I can't wait to see what happens with that. Gloria needs to get it together and be the MILF she knows she is lol before she loses Kemo for good. I can't wait to read more good job!

  2. Good mix here...

Light moments with Abby and Devon...and I like how you turned the mood when Victor walked in.

Turning point moment for Keemo and Gloria. I like that you have them hashing out their relationship, and that Gloria feels guilt. Natural and character driven.

Petty petty Phyllis, true to form. How is she gonna drop a bomb like that and leave? She knows the effect Sheila has had on Lauren. She let her selfishness take over, which she normally does. I hope Phyllis ends up alone..

Tense moments with Drucilla and Leslie. And I am glad and enjoying the slow, simmering build between these two. Neither woman is backing down from the other. Drucilla is trying to be a bully of sorts, so that makes me root for Leslie.

I'm enjoying this action at Gina's bistro and the hospital. Your last few episodes seem very focused and in moving slowly, you flesh out their emotions and character, and in turn, you flesh out how we feel about them...great job!!

  5. OOOO that was a GREAT episode. So much tension and great confrontations!

Dru vs. Leslie was a lot better than I was expecting. I was hoping Dru would keep her cool and I was not disappointed. You got that conflict down so well, and I could hear the back-and-forth in my head so vividly. Dru doesn't play, and I LOVED how it all played out. Neil woke up, but what's gonna go down now?

The restaurant was another great scene. Phyllis is so jealous of seeing Lauren with Nick, and dropped hints that she knows something about Sheila that Lauren needs to know. Now Lauren is energized to find out the truth there. GREAT stuff.

Also loved Abby and Devon. The start of a great story, I'm sure. Loved Abby catching sight of Victor too. The tension and shock for her. Can't wait to see that move.

Keemo did the right thing. GLoria has been back and forth for so long. Time to let the past go, honey!

I really enjoyed this episode. It was dramatic, moved well, and got into characters' heads. You really got the voices of the characters too, which I love.

    Fantastic job!
